Biography of Sourav Sarkar
Sourav Sarkar was born in Cooch Behar district , West Bengal, INDIA. He went to Jenkins school ,Cooch Behar for higher secondary education. He received graduation in English Literature from University B.T & Evening college . Post graduate from St. Joseph’s college Darjeeling in English Literature . Fore mostly he is a poet and he is Writing in both Bengali and English language. He is also writing critics , short stories and novels .He started writing since 2003, right from school days. His poems appeared in many little magazines like uttar vumika,uttarer haoya,chetona,angikar,ichhedana,setu ,etc. He wrote in famous dailies- “Ananda Bazaar Patrika”, “Uttar Banga sambad Patrika” ,“Ajkal” and his name appearedin“Coochbehar-Times”,“Coochbehar-samachar”“Muktalipi” occasionally .Apart from that he wrote in many Englishmagazines,like-Indianperiodical,Randompoemtree,Tuck,Scarletleafreview,Musendia,poetry.com,poetfreak.com.writerscafé,poemhunter,poetsIndia,poetrysoup,poetrypoem,allpoetry.com,poemlist.com,banglakobita.com.etc.All India Radio Siliguri broadcasted him as young poet. His poems so far published in the countries like England,India,Bangladesh,America,Canada,Trinidad,etc.Famous,Indian-English-poet Padmashree and Sahitya Akademi winner Jayanta Mahapatra read his poem and advised him to write more. He was first to join from Cooch Behar as a poet to the poetry reading event by Poetry Society India at Jawaharlal Nehru University,Delhi.At the age of 28,Sourav Sarkar got his first award for Literature a( SAHITYAR NAKSATRA OR STAR OF LITERATURE ),Mohanlal Majumdar Prize. He is a published writer of two books-DUTI SOHOR O KICHU KOBITA( first Bengali collection of poetry)and his first micro novel- THE PURI SELLER both Apublished in the year 2016.2017 his 3 poems appeared in world anthology Dandelion in a vase of roses. He is first Indian poet who got invitation to Downing college by Cambridge University magazine Notes ENGLAND.His poem Green peace had been published in London,12nov2017.
USA.2018 his poem we are one appeared in world anthology World Healing World Peace.He was among 103 writers of world.

Dead end poetry Movement
Post-modern literature is not only dealing with the imagery of society but also showing the reality. It
explores extreme realities of life. When 2020 was going through a pandemic, people believed that
world had to end; they were praying for people who got ill and dying at the moment. So new ideas
and topics were almost lost. People were in dilemma as to what would the future be like. As the
situation got worse, there was no futuristic feelings about art and poetry; people were trying to
survive their own financial loss, job loss, and economical imbalance created a vacuum in the world. In
that time Dead End Poets try to write whatever they watched in the critical time, a mixed feeling of
Fear and Death and also a yearning to live life. So they expressed their realistic approach to life. It was
completely a new type of poetry. Poetry got no Rules and no Rhythm. It could be from one to a
hundred lines. There was no use of any form and sign and symbols. It comes to end with a single word
and in one sentence.
Postmodern effects were there to bring reality from life. Choice is given to reader to criticize over the
work. Freedom of writing was there. There was no bound of words; people could express the term
“extreme reality”.
Words and vocabulary used in the dead end poems were simple and mundane, so that it could match
the feeling with the common people. Anyone could be a poet that believed. Consciousness of life had
shown in the poets of America and France and India. They followed constructive method to elaborate
the pain and effectiveness of verse. Later it maximized the choice of liberty.
We can say, it is a mixture of romanticism, realism, multiculturalism, postmodernism but it got a clear
vision that is to go beyond any of the movements that happened before it. It is not God driven
movement. It is a movement by the people. Ideas are given importance in the poetic exploration.
Traditional aspect or view of literature had been rejected. It does not show any kind of reference to
the Ideals of the other movements. There is no classicism. Dead end poets were common people.
They suggested a life which is not extraordinary or extravagant or rich or modified. They showed the
sterility of life. Except the boundary of personal life they bravely projected feeling of nature. There is
no particular theme that poets searched for. They wrote whatever they see. Despite the traits of
postmodernism which deals with the modernity and nothingness dead end poets show that after
destruction of age there will be resurrection of dream which shall build a new principal of poetry.
Absurdity of the previous movement does not have any influence upon the dead end poetry
movement.Dead End Poets group included poets from 195 countries of world. Names of major poets

They started writing through Dead end poetry magazine. First issue published on Friday 25
December 2020 from Cooch Behar, West Bengal, INDIA. Madness of science cannot resist to write the
dead end poets. Nature is not only the theme of civilization rather humans are theme of Civilization.
They upliftment poor people of society who got pain. The elite society is not constant part of society,
people can write anything about the world. It was mixture of sadness and happiness. There will be
unlocking of faith. People will go beyond traditional bondage that is end all “ism “.“Ism”will be
abolished like regionalism and symbolism. Karma will be given main teaching, through Karma one
can establish a new life where there is only happiness, no borders or wall of war. Wall of War term
related to nuclear weapons and nuclear war etc. People thought that simplicity of living life is
important. Despite the hardships of reality, people try to find out the ways through which they can get
peace. Suffering was there but at the same time there was freedom of expression that eventuality led
their life sequence. People were living a corporate life where everything had seen in the eyes of
Corporate system,a system which very much related to business and business oriented accessibility
and that’s why people were doing things only for the sake of life. Another term included here
Life for life’s sake. They could practice their art of poetry and it was possible only by the movement named
Dead end poetry movement. There was a quest of appetite that means the Quest of life food. People
were frustrated, they wanted to come out of their shell and that was why they had chosen a new way
of living life. Human thinking was dwarfed. Materialistic demand were at the end stage and people
demanded extreme reality where there was no barrier between caste, creed, religion, language,
ethnicity, state, country etc. Dead and poets knew it very well and they tried to identity each and
every human being of this world. Discovery of science is no doubt important for the society but at the
same time the science discovery had little bad eect on the human life and society that
was why people were losing faith upon science. They were in dilemma. Whether go for superpower or
science to make their life straight. People were living in a period where Stark reality made them able
to create robotic things but this electronic age had demanded no things, which will change their
natural creativity. They were fed up with the moralities and monotonous life; they were looking for a
new door of creativity. They wanted to come out of the sorrow and create a world of happiness. Few
called it Dead end age or Dead age or Dead era of literature. It spread worldwide through poems, art,
culture and life style.
